The Davis

Welcome to The Davis; our thoughtfully restored family friendly spacious 1942 MCM beach bungalow. The main house boasts a relaxing 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, workspace, kitchen, living, and laundry; while the guest house offers 1 bedroom, 1 bath, kitchenette, and living room. Guests can relax on the wrap-around porches or by the firepit under the canopy of live oaks draped in spanish moss. Come stay awhile!

  • “The Davis House is truly unique with so many special touches…. from the master bedroom with a nursery attached, a huge kitchen and den so that the “cook” can be apart of the activities in the den, the wrap around porches and shaded backyard, thoughtful coffee nook and the neutral color scheme is so soothing and relaxing.   • “I visited The Davis in June and was very impressed! The house is just beautiful, so spacious, lots of amenities (that coffee!) and clean. The decor is fantastic and made me feel like I was on a beach vacation as soon as I walked in. Although the kitchen is equipped with what you need to cook I opted to enjoy meals from local shops and restaurants which all were amazing! I slept in the lovely King suite right off the entrance of the house. I sunk into the bedding and dozed off to the low peaceful orchestra of Mother Nature. I loved being able to access downtown SSI and the beach within minutes, but able to come back to this oasis after outings. I look forward to my next visit as I will be back...with family and friends!”

The place was incredibly clean, the decor is modern costal casual and had a legit welcoming vibe. The kitchen was fully loaded and had everything we needed to immediately feel at home.   • "The Davis is the ideal vacation rental on Saint Simons Island, and I’ll tell you why: First, it’s got like a million beds, but it’s priced at a similar rate to places with far fewer beds. So if you’re trying to maximize fun while staying within budget on your framily vacation, you can rest assured—on one of the many beds—that you’ll have more room than you need at a great value. Also: The Davis is situated *mid-south island.* If you know you know, but basically this is crucial for travelers who want easy access to all the beaches, restaurants, and nightlife Saint Simons has to offer, but without the (fun and friendly, sure, but nonstop nonetheless) noise and commotion of the more Village-centric, touristy spots on the island. Finally, though not really, because there is so much to love about The Davis, but it’s got a whole additional unit in the back you can use if you’re trying to get some work done on your trip! Or if you still need extra room somehow. The hosts are warm and gracious. The place is super pretty and nice and decked out with every modern convenience you could ever want. It’s impossible to have a bad time at The Davis. Pro tip: the water filter thing is *inside* the refrigerator, on the left."

  • "The Davis House, in a well-established neighborhood on St. Simons Island, is newly renovated and refurnished as a brilliant vacation home for a larger family or close-knit group. Bedrooms and baths everywhere; commodious kitchen and dining areas, all quite a surprise in a home of this vintage. That vintage, though, is well hidden in the modern open, airy living areas. When we visited, there were 13 of us in the home, and it truly felt like a home. Not crowded in the least, there is plenty of room for the kids to play, the grownups to converse, and the entire group to feel at ease. That indoor spaciousness translates well when moving the group to the large back porch and back yard where, in the breeze, and among the lush island growth, one can truly appreciate the beauty of St. Simons Island. You'll want to "hang out" in this welcoming and comfortable home and, for the enthusiastic cooks among you, the kitchen will accommodate your every need when feeding your group. Still, there is much to do away from the house, at the beaches, the Pier area, the shops and parks - all the more accessible because you have your Davis House to return to at the end of a busy day. Visit once, I'm sure you'll be eager to return!"

  • "I wanted to take a moment and thank you for allowing my family to stay at your new AIR BNB located on SSI, GA. As you can imagine, these last few years have been very trying for everyone across the globe. It was great for our family to finally get together and have rest and relaxation at your property. It is in a quiet peaceful neighborhood and everyone we met was so nice ! The home was very relaxing ! We especially loved the guest house in the back of the property! The entire home and guest house is appointed with nice furniture and nice bedding that was so comfortable to sleep in. The main house has plenty of room for our kids to play and has space for the adults to be able to be together to talk and relax inside or outside on the back porch.. we also sat around the firepit a few nights as well! We loved your nice touches at the coffee bar and your products that you use at the home. Everything in the home is understated elegance! We were able to go to the beach, rent bikes, go sightseeing and explore the Island which has so much history! Once again, thank you for your hospitality. We will be back!!"

  • "The Davis is warm and inviting; light and airy. It gives you a feeling of being “home.” Very relaxing. Has all the amenities you need. Love love the gourmet kitchen and open eating area and great room. The privacy of the Guest House is welcoming and I really want to enjoy the fire pit… especially in cooler weather... it's a great place to talk with friends and recap your day. Great location… mid island. Close to great shops and grocery stores. I look forward to making this our home away from home on St. Simons Island!"

  • "I spent one week every summer at Saint Simons in one way or another when I was growing up. I absolutely love it there! Once you fall in love with that sweet little island, it never turns you loose. You just keep on wanting to go back! That being said, I recently had the opportunity to revisit my memories when I visited with the host, Susan, and her precious family as she was completing her dream of fixing up a rental place there. I am totally amazed at how spacious, yet cozy, The Davis is!! And Susan has used her special decorative skills to make it beautiful, stylish, and yet comfortable and “homey!” Please check this quaint place out: you’ll be so glad you did! Nestled in a charming little neighborhood, covered by the branches of the beautiful SSI oaks, it is a real “Pirates’ Treasure!”
